Cosmo's hair how-to: A bouncy ponytail

“I loved the ‘swishy’ ponytails worn high with movement at Moschino, Dsquared, Michael Kors and Iceberg” says Leigh Keates, Creative Director at Cloud Nine on his fave catwalk trend for AW13.

So is it easy to take the trend from runway to real life? Yes! The hair heroes at the professional hair styling products brand, showed Cosmo’s Online Beauty Editor, Bridget how to the big ‘n’ bouncy ponytail. Just follow these simple steps.?

Step one:?Apply a heat protection spray and curl big sections of your hair using the Cloud Nine Waving Wand.
*Stylist’s tip*?After you've left the curl go from the wand, scrunch the section of hair in your hand to set it.

Step two:?Backcomb the hair at the root for the front section using a small comb or soft brush. Leave a fine section from the hairline.

Step five:?Wrap a piece of hair around the bobble and secure with a pin. Spray with light hairspray to finish.?

Hair how-to: Beachy braids

This June Headmasters salons across the UK are launching Headmasters Does the Season, a hair styling menu of three lust-worthy ‘dos with a masterclass in how to recreate them yourself. Here is a sneak peak of The Beach look - ultimate holiday hair which will look lush up on summer days and sexy down come sunset...

You will need: A Mason Pearson brush, L’Oreal Professionnel tecni art pli (£13) and L’Oreal Professionnel tecni art liss control (£13).

CHECK OUT WHO WE'VE NAMED HAIRSTYLE OF THE DAY

Step one: Spritz the hair with L’Oreal Professionnel tecni art pli for added texture and grip and blow-dry using a Mason Pearson brush to smooth all fly-aways.

Step two: Once dry divide the hair into four sections.

Step three: Take the first section and do a scalp fishtail braid, do this by taking two 1cm pieces of hair and feeding a small part of the left hand section over to the right hand section. Repeat this on opposite sides remembering to take a new piece from the scalp each time – it sounds difficult but once you have tried it you will see it’s much easier.

Step four: Repeat this in opposite direction along the other three sections.

Step five: Then simply take the plaits and layer over each other, remember to massage the braids to loosen.

*Stylists tip* Use gloss like L’Oreal Professionnel tecni art liss control in hands when braiding it will help keep fly-aways at bay making plaiting easier.

Appointments cost £45 for 45 minutes, available from 1st June.
